Memorials made from ashes

A personal farewell for Grandad

"Grandads are like dads, only much cooler!"

About this experience

"Grandads are like dads, only much cooler!"

Time with Grandad often means getting up to all sorts, listening to stories from years gone by, perching on the arm of his favourite chair and copying his distinctive food habits, from sugar rolls to the 1000-revolution "nightcap" after almost every meal from 13:00 onwards. Even his jokes that have not aged well still make you laugh, because there is almost nothing better than laughing together. Having to say goodbye to someone so special is deeply painful, yet bound up with many beautiful memories. To honour those moments and the part he played in your life, we have created a concept that offers more than a funeral ceremony alone. Together, we devise the right ceremony for a much-loved grandad. The entire concept is shaped around the gentleman’s character, strengths, hobbies and story. We might stage the story of his life in his home town, prepare a large dinner of his favourite dishes, show photographs and videos, or create an artwork together in his memory. We gather Grandad's stories from family, friends and acquaintances and turn them into a bound book. This is then placed in a "Goodbye Bag" with his favourite spirit and a selection of his finest photographs for funeral guests to take away. If this appeals to you, please contact us at any time for personal advice.
