Memorials made from ashes

Economic Miracle ceremony

Economic recovery and new hope

About this experience

Economic recovery and new hope

At the end of the Second World War, Germany was a devastated country. Cities lay in ruins and many people went hungry. Then, in the 50s, what had seemed impossible happened and Germany experienced enormous economic growth. Generations marked by war and suffering could finally breathe more easily and lead not only a life with fewer worries, but in many cases a prosperous one. For many people who witnessed it, this economic good fortune and long-awaited change created some of the happiest moments of their lives. Anyone who finally drew hope from these developments after a long wait may remain grateful for that era and see it as more than the first stirrings of capitalism. We are glad to arrange a memorial service in this spirit for people who were deeply shaped by this period of newfound security. The ceremony might include décor typical of the time, radio music from the era, familiar food and home cooking, or slide shows of the memories made then. Please contact us and we will create an individual concept for you.
