Fan's coming home. It is every football fan's dream to be buried beneath the hallowed turf of their stadium. While Manchester United fans can be buried beneath the pitch at Old Trafford, this form of burial is unfortunately prohibited in Germany because burial must take place in a cemetery. Hamburger SV and FC Schalke 04 already offer burials in so-called "football cemeteries". These are special areas within existing cemeteries, designed, for example, in the shape of a stadium and planted in club colours. Because the number of graves in the „Schalke FanFeld“ is limited and many people wish to choose their grave during their lifetime, it is also possible to reserve a grave in the FanFeld.
