About this experience

A funeral as a festival of life

Never has a memory felt so alive, or a farewell "for ever" so life-affirming. Practices long found in tribal or micro-societies can be reimagined today. Guided by the principle of give and take, these funerals become a temporary, life-affirming festival: a space where farewell, remembrance and gratitude merge. At its centre stands a large wooden figure representing the person who has died, surrounded by further works of art that guests can enter, play with and experience. Colourful clothing, self-made costumes, elaborately decorated bicycles and the active involvement of every guest express a joy in life. Everyone becomes part of the whole and everyone contributes something. The high point begins at dusk. As day turns to night, a captivating display of light appears in the sky. Many small drone lights form an image of the person who has died, high above the heads of those gathered. It is a quiet, powerful moment that connects and moves people. Extraordinary art installations rise all around: a spacecraft that can be entered, a whale on wheels, or a several-metre-high octopus made from everyday objects that breathes flames into the night sky in time with the music. Together with our masters of ceremonies, we plan this exclusive memorial event individually around your wishes. A farewell that does not end, but carries people onwards.
