About this experience

Funerals inspired by Prince

A farewell filled with individuality and a lasting presence. When music icon Prince died at his Paisley Park estate in 2016 at the age of 57, he was cremated shortly afterwards. A small ceremony for his closest circle was followed by several official and unofficial memorial services. His farewell was deliberately multi-layered and reflected his personality. The treatment of his ashes was particularly unusual. They were not buried, but placed in a specially designed urn shaped as a miniature model of his estate. The urn remains prominently displayed in the entrance hall at Paisley Park. Its design, including a small purple piano inside, was created by his sister and nephew and produced using a 3D printing process. The ashes are sealed within one of the urn's front pillars. For people drawn to this individual form of farewell, we can arrange several memorial services if desired. This may suit different places of mourning, branches of a family or ways of remembering. A farewell can therefore be both traditional and understated, or creative and personal, reflecting the person who has died. We can also arrange the design of an individual urn, including one produced with modern 3D printing. Fans can have a faithful reproduction of Prince's urn made. The result is a funeral that remembers a life while preserving a visible expression of personality.
