About this experience

Next-generation funerals

An ecological funeral using the latest methods. These funerals represent an especially sustainable, forward-looking approach to saying goodbye. The new ecological funeral is based on a process developed by the Swedish biologist Susanne Wjjgh Mäsak and known as promession. Its aim is to support the natural cycle of life while conserving as many resources as possible. The process deep-freezes the body in liquid nitrogen at minus 196 degrees. In this state, it breaks down into a fine powder, which is then filtered to remove foreign materials such as mercury or metals from implants. The remains are buried at a depth of approximately 40 centimetres in a biodegradable coffin made from maize or potato starch. Within six to twelve months, both the powder and the biodegradable coffin break down completely and return to the natural cycle. This form of funeral is intended for people who place great value on environmental awareness, sustainability and minimising the burden on future generations. In a personal consultation, we explain the options and the advantages and disadvantages of different forms of funeral in detail, and coordinate the farewell around your individual wishes.

What people say

Translated from the original German

"Although I am still young, I want to make sure today that everything is secure for tomorrow. Everyone should plan ahead, whether young or old, single or with a family."

Maya Roth

"The range of options is incredible. Fortunately, we do not need your website's service yet, but if the time comes, we know who to contact."

Veronika Haas

"It is difficult to find a funeral director willing to care for a four-legged companion who has died. From the first contact and the cremation through to the keepsake: thank you."
