So sorry to say goodbye, Steampunk!
So sorry to say goodbye, Steampunk!
Steampunk originally described a literary genre whose founding figures included Jules Verne and H. G. Wells. With novels such as „20.000 Leagues Under the Sea“ and „The Time Machine“, the two writers developed a new form of science fiction that still has many followers today. Steampunk is retro-futurist: elements of the past meet visions of the future. Victorian fashion, characterised above all by skirts, corsets, elegant gloves, waistcoats and top hats, is combined with futuristic details, often involving steam, gears or cyborg body parts. Steampunk elements are familiar from films such as "Mad Max - Fury Road" and "The Wizard of Oz", as well as from the clothing worn at gatherings such as the "Burning Man Festival", which also explores artistic questions about alternative forms of society. Through elegance, extravagance and elaborate costumes, these events play with the question „What if?“ and imagine an alternative history. This retro-futurism has developed into a distinctive, carefully considered artistic style and way of life. When someone who made this style their own dies, it can also shape the way they are remembered. If you wish, we can travel with friends and family to the steampunk centre of Lincoln in England, allowing the wider community to say goodbye. We can also organise a steampunk funeral service elsewhere, including an authentic dress code for guests with top hats, other hats, Victorian dresses, aviator goggles and much more. Together, we develop decorations, entertainment and shows that suit the theme and reflect the life and personal journey of the person who has died.

"Losing someone you love is very painful. Being able to design the coffin ourselves, together with the professional support we received, helped us enormously and made the death a little easier to comprehend. Thank you to your entire team."
