Tattoo made with ashes
Tattoo made with ashes
Connected for ever and never forgotten. The tattoo looks conventional, but its ink is different: alongside the usual pigments, it contains some of the ashes of the person who died. Hair, blood, skin or another source of DNA can also be used. The sample is ground, sterilised and enclosed in microscopic polymethyl methacrylate capsules (PMMA). PMMA is also known as acrylic glass and is already used widely in medicine. The resulting powder is mixed with the chosen tattoo ink and placed beneath the skin in the same way as a conventional tattoo.
