A unique burial on the open sea Those who choose a burial at sea often feel a close connection to the ocean or the element of water, or hold happy memories of holidays on the coast. The thought of returning to the source of all life can bring families peace and comfort. Finding a final resting place in the expanse of the sea represents not only farewell, but also freedom and a new departure. Without a fixed grave, some take comfort in feeling close to the person they love from any shore across the seven seas. A journey to the place of remembrance is often combined with a holiday that brings much of the family together again. The reasons for choosing a burial at sea are as varied as families themselves. We also offer biodegradable urns and themed products for this form of funeral, including our shell urns. The following is included in our burial-at-sea service on the North Sea or Baltic Sea: • Simple lined coffin for a person weighing no more than 100kg & measuring no more than 195cm • Biodegradable sea urn • Transfer from the place of death, with the whole of Germany covered by the advertised price, to a German crematorium of our choice • Registration at a German crematorium of our choice • Fees charged by that crematorium • Cost of the second examination of the body required by law at the crematorium • Bearers for the transfer • Basic hygienic care of the person who has died • Laying out and dressing the person who has died, with their own clothes permitted • Deregistration with the relevant residents' registration office
