About this experience

Remembering someone on Instagram

"The internet never forgets". Our world is becoming increasingly digital. Social media is now part of everyday life and, although that is not always entirely positive, it can help preserve precious memories. We have developed a concept intended to resist someone simply "being forgotten", while remaining accessible to everyone grieving their loss. Even a brief encounter can change a life. Although the time together may have been short, we still want to remember those who affected us in some way. We create a dedicated "memorial profile" for the person who has died on Instagram. We set it up and publish different material over an agreed period. A private profile can of course be used, allowing only selected people to see and interact with the content. Posts might include quotations, reflections on life, photograph collections, snapshots, videos or final messages. Mourners can repost the content, share it through other media or add comments. Condolences and personal memories can also be sent easily to the family through private messages. Future generations can visit the profile too, while family members can see how deeply the person is missed and understand the scale of the emotional mark they left.
